Delirium

Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't.

Delirium. By Lauren Oliver.
This book was absolutely beautiful. It shows the dangers, wonders, and pain of true love. I have seen this book compared to 1984 by George Orwell and other dystopian novels, but the focus of this book is not the dystopian government or world, it is, to me, supposed to show that love cannot be stopped by cruel governments or people that have total faith in the cruel governments. This is one of my favorite reads so far this year and I hope that many people choose to read it. It has a fairly slow start but once the chain of events began I couldn't read it fast enough. I loved the ending and I felt that there is a possibility for another book.

Oh, and one more little tidbit, I put a note in one of the copies at my local library so some people here might actually know me... heh. That will be interesting. Anyway, have you read Delirium? Are you planning to read it? Did you stop reading it b/c of the slow start? Has my review convinced you to give it a try? I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I want to know what you think of the books and my reviews.

hope to hear from you,
JennaRose

P.S. "I love you. Remember. They cannot take it."

P.P.S. A post that might come up soon might feature some playing with food.

P.P.P.S. Read the book. It's good. Really good.

Beautiful Creatures

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.

At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.
In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

I just finished Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I am planning to read the next one soon..... But back to the book of topic. I thought it was really good and it is one of the only books that I have read from a guy's perspective. It was different but it was a good different. The ending was fantastic and really made way for the second book. The characters were awesome and had a sense of humor that I liked. The authors did a good job of portraying the characters personalities. I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it. What did you think of it? Hope to hear your thoughts.

l8er!

i am late

hi all. i meant to post on friday but i forgot... sorry. sadly i don't have any pictures of my piercing, but i can say that is awesome. i will upload pictures as soon as i find my ipod which has vanished into narnia.

onto other news, i saw hp7.2 on saturday and it was... amazing. wonderful. heartbreaking. simply great. all these words describe how amazing this movie was. i can say with certainty that if a movie or book can make me cry i will love it.

onto even more other news, next week from july 31- august 6 i will not be posting anything beccause i will be at hogwarts myself. it is an amazing camp brought to life by amazing volunteers (whom i love). this will be my second year going and i can not wait.

and this is my last more news. i have recently read and watched beastly by alex flinn. i loved the book. i think the story was told brilliantly and the characters are amusing. the movie on the other hand did not fit the image i created while i was reading the book. i felt that they cut out some of the best and/or important details. have you read the book? seen the movie? what did u think? i hope to hear your point of view.

it is really late right now so...
until next time,

i heart dumplings!!!

i have recently discovered my love for marco and luca's dumplings. i don't think it's a chain so you might not ever get to taste them so i pity you. but i took some pictures while i was there because i think their decorating skills are... well... interesting.

first up is a chandelier...
that is covered with x-mas lights.
and some beautiful lamp shades...
that were stacked together on a shelf.

nearby there was a lion...

knocker on the wall.

an oddly placed piano

and i have no clue why it was there.

and last but certainly not least, a stunning, breath-taking, amazing...
.....
....
...
..
.
rainbow, color-sphere, disco thingie.

if only their decor was as good as their dumplings...

oh well.

until next time
